When Donald Trump was elected, some students of Hispanic heritage went to school the next day crying to their teachers, in fear they'd soon be deported.

While the Obama administration has been easy on cracking down on undocumented kids, the threat of deportation under a Trump presidency is a very real fear for many families.

School districts across the country are responding to concerns expressed by immigrant families as they brace for a Donald Trump presidency, The Washington Post reported.

In Maryland for instance, public school officials there recently warned teachers that more students might be absent from class or struggle due to fear.

College students from schools like Harvard and Yale are signing a petition to make their campus a sanctuary for undocumented immigrants, so immigrant students would feel safer attending class.

If fact, college students from Texas to New York left class in protest asking for their universities to declare themselves sanctuaries.

School boards in MinneapolisDenver, and Los Angeles have also recently taken steps to declare safe havens and remind families that ICE agents are not allowed on campus....a sad sign of the times in Trump's America.
