Aspiring Rapper Stole $4 Million From Job To Fund His Music Career

Chad Arrington pleaded guilty to the charges.

Chad Arrington, stage name Chad Focus, has recently pleaded guilty to stealing as much as $4 million from his job in order to fund his music career. The company that he worked for had provided him with an expense American Express credit card that he misused and racked up huge amounts of credit card bills.

As reported by Rolling Out, he was employed as a search engine optimization expert at a company (name withheld) and was using the card from 2015 to 2018. According to the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office, the 31-year-old rapper not only paid to buy followers on social media, but he also used the money to artificially increase his number of plays statistics on streaming channels.

Incredibly, he misused his card to buy concert tickets, to cover his travel expenses, to buy audio equipment and much more. In an audacious move, he had even used the card to purchase a billboard to feature himself in Times Square.

In pleading guilty to the charges, he was able to get six other charges dropped that included wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. The rapper could now face a prison sentence of 20 years and maybe behind the bars for a long time to come.
