The late, great Eartha Kitt had no problem telling it how she saw it! It's clear from this old interview—as the actress and singer shares her thoughts on love and compromise.
In a snippet from her 1982 documentary “All by Myself: The Eartha Kitt Story," Eartha cracked up laughing when the interviewer dared to ask her if she was willing to compromise in a relationship. While many might say yes, Ms. Kitt called the idea "stupid." Eartha then boldly asked, "For what? A man comes into my life, and I have to compromise?" HA think again!
Watch Eartha go in below!
The most powerful line of this was when Eartha said, "I fall in love with myself, and I want someone to share it with me. I want someone to share ME with me." Now that's bold, bad-ass, and REAL. You have to truly be in love with yourself and confident in yourself before jumping in a relationship. And, once you're in one, you don't compromise who you are for nobody!
Some of the kids on Twitter are getting it now:
Even though she's gone now, Eartha's words still speak some powerful truths! More people, not just ladies, need to watch and take on that logic.
