The charity event organized reportedly charged up to $1,000 per tickets for entry.
In an exclusive report by Mara Siegler for Page Six, it emerged that a charity event used the names of Chadwick Boseman and Keanu Reeves for attracting people to attend the event, the cost of entry tickets being up to $1,000.
The Sunday’s Global Charity Initiative Black Tie Event and Benefit at the Beverly Hilton generously used the names of these stars and Chadwick Boseman actually attended it too. Dr. Gershom Sikaala, the founder of the said charity, actually has no association with either of these stars nor is Boseman affiliated with his charity.
Boseman actually attended the event as a favor for a friend who is associated with Sikaala, but he left the event when he found that he was to receive an award at the function. Boseman did not intend to take the focus away from the charity and decided to leave.
While Keanu Reeves' representatives clearly stated that Keanu had no knowledge of this event nor was he associated with it in any way. Sikaala even used a morphed image to show that Boseman was reading one of his books.
