Olympic Gold Medalist Simone Biles Breaks Silence Over Brother Who Is Charged In Multiple Homicide

Biles shared a heartfelt statement along with a Tweet that read: "Still having a hard time processing last [week's] news."

Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Simone Biles has opened up following the arrest of her brother, Tevin Biles-Thomas. The athlete shared an emotional update on her Twitter account.  Her statement reads: "My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families. There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone’s pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy as we deal with our pain. XO"

Biles also shared a tweet along with her statement which reads: "Still having a hard time processing last [week's] news."



 

24-year-old Tevin Biles -Thomas was arrested on August 29 for his connection in the murder of three people who lost their lives in a New Year's Eve shooting. The incident took place in Cleveland in December 2018 in an Airbnb rental. DelVaunte Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and DeVaughn Gibson, 23, were fatally shot, while two other partygoers were injured. 



 

Cuyahoga County prosecutor Michael O'Malley spoke to news outlets on Thursday, August 29. He said: "The relentless persistence of Cleveland Police Homicide detectives helped secure an indictment in this case. It is through their hard work that we can begin to seek justice for these victims."



 

Police arrested Biles -Thomas after he was indicted on manslaughter, murder, as well as other charges. He is set to be arraigned on September 13.
