Woman Stabbed To Death On NYC Subway Platform Following An Argument With A Fellow Passenger

While the investigation is still underway, the suspect is believed to be a 20-year-old woman who has been arrested.

Latanya Watson, a 30-year-old mother, was stabbed multiple times in the face, neck, and arm and died on NYC Subway Platform following an altercation with a fellow passenger. As reported by NBCNewYork, the incident occurred at the Sutter Avenue 3 Line station around 9:15 p.m. on Monday.

It is believed that the argument began on the train in Brooklyn and continued at the platform. The reason behind the argument is not yet clear and it is also not known if the suspect knew her from before. Latanya is the mother of a 12-year-old and worked at the Fairway supermarket in Red Hook.

The suspect is believed to be a 20-year-old woman. The authorities revealed that the suspect could have gotten injured in the altercation herself as they found a trail of blood. She may have cut her arm and it was this trail of blood which led the investigators to a nearby apartment where she was apprehended. While the charges have not yet been filed, the police are looking into the reasons for the stabbing.

The authorities revealed that Latanya may have pepper-sprayed the suspect as well, at some point during their heated argument. Latanya was rushed to Brookdale Hospital but she was not able to survive the attack. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
